The Parallel Project presented by The Gallery 45 in Limassol!

The end of this year promises us to become rich for art events in Limassol and one them planned is The Parallel Project presented by The Gallery 45 in old town.

The Gallery 45 is a new contemporary art and design exhibition space launching in the heart of Limassol’s old town.

It has set its sight on exhibiting contemporary artists from both the local and international stage while also introducing

emerging artists and designers to the Cyprus art scene. Its founder is Sanaz Nazemi Agha and is currently collaborating

with Athens-based artistic duo collaboration Blaqk, aka Simek and Greg Papagrigoriou as well as local Larnaca-based

artist Elena Tsigaridou.

The Gallery 45 presents The Parallel Project featuring internationally renowned Cypriot furniture and product designer,

Moussaris, together with Athens-based visual artists Anastasia Papaleonida-Pountza, DonForty and Robert Seikon

for their debut exhibition in Cyprus from the 20th of November till the 22nd of December.

Mousarris’ mind-bending conceptual furniture and surreal functional art objects are all handmade, blending industrial

technology with organic handcraft. His works are proudly on permanent display at the 21st Century Design Wing

of the Louvre in Paris.

With a client base spanning major international collectors, architects, Hollywood notables and featuring in over 40

reputable design magazines, and recently he’s been awarded 2021 silver A’ Design award, 33-year-old Larnaca-based

Stelios Mousarris is undoubtedly a talent to watch.

Mousarris will present a curated installation of limited edition pieces along with the international launch of an exclusive

piece designed for the Gallery 45 in his first-ever local exhibition.

Anastasia Papaleonida-Pountza is based in Athens where she studied Visual Communication. Best known for her

paintings, murals and art installations using different mediums such as plaster, clay, ink, paper, fabric and wood, her

more recent works play with the repetition of abstract and dynamic forms to create calm yet chaotic artworks full of

movement and texture. Her works can be found in industrial spaces in Greece, as she works to interact the place with

the space and the building itself while often deriving influences from the elements that surround it.

DonForty aka Evangelos Sarantaris is a Greek visual artist based between Valencia and Athens, where he studied

Graphic Design and has been working mainly with murals, illustration and paintings. As an active street artist since

2002, his works of art consist of installations inspired by simple materials found on the streets.

His maximalist designs, with intricate hand-drawn lines battling for space amongst intense touches and improvised

drippings adorn walls, spaces and galleries in several countries across Europe.

Robert Seikon is a Polish visual artist based in Greece. Having graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Gdansk,

Poland, his work focuses on contemporary and abstract paintings, murals and sculptures. Exhibiting internationally since 1999, his style has evolved and his interests have focused mainly on geometry and lines and in particular his play with parallel lines and colour. Seikon specialises in creating unique geometric patterns that have the power to transform a surface through the use of colour and design.
