Cyprus is heading to a record year in Tourist arrivals with April showing a Year on Year increase of 12% putting the total number of April 2016 Tourist arrivals to Cyprus at 225,575.
Cystats (Cyprus Statistical Service) released new numbers showing that the rise mainly came from UK and Russian tourists with arrivals from the UK increasing by 9.6% and tourist arrivals from Russian increasing by over 38%.
Arrivals from Greece and Germany fell on the other hand by 6.4 per cent and 19 per cent to 16,685 and 9,317 respectively.
For the first quarter of 2016 arrivals incensed by 22 per cent to 477,183 compared to the same period last year.
In a separate statement, Cystat said that the number of Cyprus residents who travelled abroad in April fell an annual 5.6 per cent to 87,255.
We expect that the May numbers were also up and will publish the data as soon as it is released.
