Constantinos Vasiliades – ‘BLACK’ w13/14

Cypriot Fashion Designer’s Constantinos Vasiliades’s winter 2013.2014 BLACK themed collection. A scene from a dark medieval on set with model Ksenia Zaytseva with a dark sci-fi underground twist; this long and lean beautiful creature that’s escaped from it’s natural habitat and has found it’s way to modern society. An all black palette as emphasis this time was on the texture and movement of each piece from either romantic sheer and transparent fabrics, cocoon dresses that were gradually molten into cocktail numbers that erupted into fringed, tulip shapes and all-in-ones that neatly contoured the body.

Constantinos also presents to us structured dresses with feathered layers, ethereal organza dresses that were translucent to show off the tighter silhouette beneath. Very “haute couture” precise tailoring to give a slicker elegance, lots of sheer long draped layers resulting in delicate waterfall columns, soft cloud puff like dresses with sumptuous volumes.

A three dimensional display from ultra bodacious to romantic and finally ending in long and lean line draped floor-sweeping dresses using airy chiffons and plush velvets. Clothes Designer Constantinos Vasiliades achieved in proving to us once again that he is THE “sculptor of elegance” with his no denying to the whole collection which had his distinctive signature stamp of draping.

What really stands out with all of Constantinos’s collections so far is that he not only revisits fashion in history but presents to his audiences a rebirth using his own statement techniques. Constantinos Vasiliades;, the voice for fashion history and today.
